Glories Happy Hats

Glories Happy Hats is a not-for profit organization that is dedicated to supporting seriously ill kids and their families. Also they would like to inspire youth to get involved with service learning activities. The organization is located in Falls Church, Virginia.

Volunteer Organizations

Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement

SCV is a part of the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement. The Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement sponsors many programs on campus including: V.O.I.C.E. Volunteer Clearinghouse, environmental programs, FSU Alternative Break and National Volunteer Week. The Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement is located at the Braddock House along Braddock Road.

V.O.I.C.E. Volunteer Clearinghouse

VOICE Volunteer Clearinghouse is part of the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement. VOICE provides volunteers with a method to take their interests and link them to service projects that match their interests. If you are a service site, you can use this service to advertise your service projects to volunteers.

Volunteer Center of Allegany County

The Volunteer Center of Allegany County is a local organization that is a great resource to find out about volunteer opportunities in Allegany County. They provide various programs through their office such as, RSVP Program, and Medical Reserve Corps.

This web site is the official section of the American Cancer Society web site that is dedicated to Relay for Life. This section of the ACS web site provides more information about the event, how you can get involved, and make donations to the event and more.

American Cancer Society sponsors the Relay for Life events. The organization is dedicated "to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service." (Quoted from the American Cancer Society web site) The organization provides many resources for patients, survivors and anyone that would like more information about the disease. This web site also provides information about the various events that the organization sponsors to raise money to fight the disease.

Habitat for Humanity

This organization is dedicated to: "eliminating poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action" (Quoted from the Habitat for Humanity web site) This web site provides information about the various projects they are working on, information about their organization, and more.

Habijax Habitat for Humanity Jacksonville

This web site provides information about the Jacksonville affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. Our Intersession Alternative Break Trips works with this group.

Oxfam

This organization is dedicated "to creating lasting solutions to global poverty, hunger and social injustice." (Quoted from the Oxfam America Web site) Their web site provides information about the campaigns they are running which include Fast for a World Harvest which is the campaign that the Hunger Banquet that we sponsor falls in.
