Alleluia, the Lord is Risen! Truly He is risen!
This is our theme for today - Christ has been raised from the dead. The cross of Good Friday, which seemed a sign
of defeat, becomes instead a sign of hope!
For us, as Christians, Easter calls us to new life and the promise of eternal
life. Today in our Masses we renew our
Baptismal promises. It is at our Baptism
that we are given the promise of eternal life: we die and rise with Jesus in
the waters of Baptism. Throughout the
world this day many people have joined our Church. As we welcome them to our Church we are
renewed in our faith in Jesus Christ.
Congratulations to Chris Afoakwah who received the Sacraments of Confirmation and
Eucharist at today’s 12 Noon Mass; and to Michael Mohl who was received into
the Catholic Church and received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist
at the 8:00 PM Mass. We celebrate this great day of faith with them and offer
them our support and prayers as they continue their journey of faith in the
Catholic Church!
Special Thanks to Shannon Van Meter, our Music Director, who has enhanced our
celebrations during Holy Week with wonderful music! We also thank our Choir and the following
musicians who have played at Mass today: Dan Reynolds, Jonathan Bryant, David
Durham, Emmanuel Johnson, Kyle Ritchey and Jonathan Beattie. Thank you so much
for sharing your gift of music with us!
READING
OF THE IRAQ WAR DEAD: Every Tuesday, from 12:15 PM
- 12:30 PM at the Clocktower, there will be a reading of
the names of those who have died in the Iraq War. This
is one way we can remember and keep in prayer all those
who have died in this war. I invite you to join us when
you can. If you would like to volunteer to be a reader,
please let me know.
