About CCM

PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND: Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) is a student organization on the Campus of Frostburg State University. Our Purpose is to offer Spiritual, Educational, Social and Service opportunities to the Students, Faculty and Staff of FSU. Funded and sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, we are members of the Interfaith Council on Campus which also includes United Campus Ministry (Protestant), The Baptist Student Ministry, and Hillel (Jewish). Although we are Roman Catholic in focus, people of any religion are welcome to join us for any of our activities.
SPIRITUAL: CCM provides Mass every Sunday at 12:00 Noon and 8:00 P.M. in Cook Chapel which is located in Frost Hall. We also offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Confirmation Preparation, and RCIA for those who are interested in Catholicism. We are part of Ecumenical Worship Services such as Thanksgiving and Ash Wednesday. We offer students the opportunity to be Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and Song Leaders for our Masses and other prayer services. We also offer a Retreat each Semester. Fr. Ed Hendricks, the Chaplain, is also available for Counseling and Spiritual Direction.
EDUCATIONAL: CCM provides weekly opportunities for discussion and presentations on a variety of topics. Some are led by students, others by area professionals. Some topics have been: Dealing with Grief and Loss, Alcohol and Drug Education, AIDS Education, What is the Mass all about?, and Open Forum on the Church.
SOCIAL: CCM provides opportunities for Social events such as Monthly Dinners, an Opening Social at the beginning of each Semester, Movie Nights, Volleyball Games, Picnics and other Recreational events.  
SERVICE: CCM provides opportunities for Service such as helping to provide a Christmas Dinner for the Residents of Frost Village, visits to St. Vincent dePaul Nursing Home, the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, and Clean Up Day in Frostburg,
LOCATION: The Osborne Newman Center, the Home of Catholic Campus Ministry, is located between Annapolis Hall and Campus Police on University Drive. We have a meeting room/lounge with comfortable furniture for students to relax and study. We also have a kitchen for the convenience of those who use our building. The Osborne Newman Center is open every day of the week.
CHAPLAIN: Fr. Ed Hendricks, the Catholic Chaplain, is available to Students, Faculty and Staff. He is a priest of the Archdiocese of Baltimore and has had many years of experience in Youth and Young Adult Ministry. He is available for Counseling, Spiritual Direction, or just to talk.
